disney dream portraits

I was looking for photos of visual displays that are food or home-themed but instead, I found this series of photos taken by Annie Leibovitz for a Disney ad campaign that features celebrities as Disney characters.

Queen Latifah as Ursula the Sea Witch from the Little Mermaid

Beyonce as Alice in Wonderland, Oliver Platt as the Mad Hatter, and Lyle Lovett as the March Hare

Penelope Cruz as Belle and Jeff Bridges as the Beast

Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgen as Prince Philip and Princess Aurora

Gisele as Wendy, Mikhail Baryshnikov as Peter Pan and Tina Fey as Tinkerbell

Jessica Biel as Pocahontas

David Beckham as Prince Philip from Sleeping Beauty

Julianne Moore as Ariel and Michael Phelps as a merman

Scarlett Johansson as Cinderella

Rachel Weisz as Snow White

Jennifer Lopez as Jasmine and Marc Anthony as Aladdin

Julie Andrew as the Blue Fairy in Pinocchio with Abigail Breslin as her apprentice fairy

I love the Little Mermaid one but then that one is my favorite Disney movie. When I was a little girl, I wanted to grow up to be a mermaid. Unrealistic, I know and highly impractical but you’re allowed these things when you’re a child.  Or you should be, at least, if you aren’t.

The only one I really didn’t like from these photos is Jessica Biel as Pocahontas.  That is a terrible picture.  Now, not all models can act and not all actors can model.  Clearly, she can do neither.  Jessica Biel, please give it up and find something else you can do cuz honey, this ain’t it.

I did like the choice of casting for most of the photos, though.  I liked that it was varied and multicultural.
