Ummm…you’re kidding me, right? Can you imagine the foul-mouthed, sloppy singer in ads for Chanel? Well, no need to wonder anymore, first photos of her ad campaign shot by Karl Lagerfeld himself for Chanel’s Coco Cocoon handbag line for fall 2009 have been released. She looks unrecognizable. Heavy on the photoshopping, maybe?
The Coco Cocoon handbag collection consists of reversible, lightweight nylon and lambskin bags in ecru, black, navy, and beige with a quilted garnet lining – the original lining color of the house’s classic 2.55 bag.
I love the Breakfast at Tiffany’s vibe but Audrey Hepburn was classy, elegant…everything Lily Allen is not. Previous choices, Nicole Kidman and Keira Knightley perfectly fit the ideal of the Chanel woman. I think Lily is a talented singer but a muse for Chanel? I don’t think so. And the bags themselves are not too pretty.
I mean, I understand there’s a recession going on but come on, it doesn’t mean Chanel should lower its standards.
Also, Lily Allen is launching a jewellery collection featuring motifs such as pandas, flamingos, and pumpkins, covered in crystals. Sounds…unoriginal.
